Existential Ice Creamist, Kim Jones

“A smiling skeleton reveals our unrealizable dream of permanence and leads us into what lies beyond – the possibility of a radical wholeness to which suffering cannot attain.”

Kim quotes ‘The Tibetan Art of Healing’ to help describe the impetus for her art: “Realizing these ideas really helped me to let go of a lot of resentment that I’d been carrying for a long time.”

“I am amazed and inspired by people I’ve met in my travels. I’ve seen people with barely any material possessions be so much happier than most of us are here in America. We take so much for granted.”

“Much of my inspiration comes from nature, both artistically and non-artistically. I love Tibetan art and everything Day of the Dead related.”

Why do you make art?
“Gotta keep the juices flowin…”

What music do you listen to when painting?
“I love Pandora radio. I’m usually listening to ‘People Under the Stairs’…’Guru’…or the ‘Beastie Boys’ stations.”

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life and it had to be a Churn yum-yum what would it be?
“Easy, toasted coconut ice cream!”

Which vice would you indulge in if it had no negative side effects?
“Come closer…I’ll whisper it in your ear ;) …”

Which moment from your life would you choose to relieve if you could?
Well, I wouldn’t change anything because all of my experiences have made me who I am today…but, for fun I wouldn’t mind reliving the summer of 2000 which I spent traveling around south-eastern Alaska.
